The watch that started it all

This was a gift from my father years ago that started my love of watches and got me into collecting. It was his old one that he’d worn for a long time. I’d love to hear what was your start!

Nice watch man and even nicer that it has this special meaning to you! I like the style:) I got into watches slowly 2 years ago because at first I wanted to buy myself for my graduation a rolex (not as easy as I thought) and then got deeper and deeper into watches;) Before that I got from my parents a Tissot PRC200 to my Quinceañera which I deeply love and to my bachelor graduation a Certina automatic dress watch. Inbetween I also bought a Hugo Boss quartz watch to give my tissot some relieve and after the bachelor graduation I also bought a Certina quartz diver. To be honest at that time I did not knkw that there were automatic and quartz watches haha

My parents gifted a 60s Omega Seamaster with a beads of rice bracelet to me the summer before I started middle school. I wore that token for years through high school, university and the first few years working as a grunt architect. My older daughter needed a watch for a swim competition one summer, just like that it was stolen from her locker. I blame myself for the loss, should not have been so casual with my Omega.
