Tag Heuer SEL Chronograph CG2111-RO

The Tag Heuer SEL chronograph which would evolve into the more modern “Link” range for the brand was a raging success during its time.

At the forefront of the F1 scene and sported by the likes of Ayrton Senna, the watch exploded in popularity. That watch itself manifested within a weird transitional era for Tag Heuer. It is arguable to say that for the next 10 years after this release the brand lost a certain sense of identity.

But the watch itself, in all its glory is stunning. The beautiful blue face and detailed dial with sub dials positioned at 12,6 and 9, gets more intriguing the more you look at it. The bracelet, its interlocking alien-like biomorphic rib pattern is a distinguishing characteristic that makes the watch instantly recognisable.

And for me, sentimentality above all else. It was my fathers watch, and speaks volumes to a world gone by but one not so far away.
