Places to purchase watches in the UK
Hi. I’m in the UK this month and looking to purchase a watch (automatic, manual). I came across Ernst Jones and Goldsmiths. The watches here are in 100% retail rates. Can you please recommend a few other stores, including online ones that may have deals?
Also, if I import from Jomashop, whats the landing duties like? 30% more from the JS prices?

Depends where you are or what you're buying. Chisolm Hunter sells luxury watches as well as seikos Hamiltons etc. Beaverbrooks sells watches too, cheapest being a £300 Seiko. Francis and Gaye jewellers have a couple of stores in the Midlands, and sell a fair few brands. John Lewis (a department store) have a watch section with brands like Seiko, Citizen, Casio and Mondaine.
Wouldn't bother with Ernest Jones, they only sell jewellery. Goldsmiths start with Tissot as their cheapest brand.
Or you've got CW Sellors up north, but there was a horror story post put up not long ago so mind yourself

Not a scooby doo on that front mate sorry. Standard import duty is 20% for other things but that's about the limit on my knowledge of Import costs.
Another place to visit is TK Maxx. Unsure if its worldwide or just a British chain. Its like a department store but every one has different stock. Usually its nothing except fashion watches but my local the other day had Tissots, Timexs and Mondaines. Could be worth a gander
If you are in Glasgow this is the place to visit. Argyll Arcade which is on Buchanan Street. About 30 shops in a Victorian arcade with many UK Watch retailers represented. Well worth a visit.
