Gooday Crunchers! Todays watch is "The Glider", a relic from behind the iron curtain, the former GDR. We're looking at a "RUHLA Eurochron Tropicalized" with a 24-32 movement, the watch case is completely made of some sort of resin/plastic, acrylic crystal and the movement itself also contains nylon pieces. Because of many restrictions of for instance steel, designer had to be inventive to say the least. To service, one can only access the movement from the front, to release the windingstem (with crown) you have to access the movement through that tiny hole still covered at the rear. This piece of history was made in the late 70ies, still running strong. And it's very light, I wear it on a silicone strap with a black pvd milled clasp, it weighs only 49 grams. Have a great day!
