Degaussing

I’m pretty stoked today because I degaussed my own watch for the first time.

I recently/finally got a timegrapher and when I was checking one of my watches, I noticed that since a day or so prior it had gone from running 0 to +3 and jumped to running +22 to +30. The amplitude had a sizable drop as well. I did some reading to make sure I was headed down the right path on my thinking. I was pretty sure it was magnetized.

So, I ordered a watch degausser. It arrived today. I know it’s easy to do, and only takes a minute or so, but it felt awesome to do it myself. Put it in the timegrapher after, and it was back and actually even better running 0 to +1.

Yes, always a good feeling of accomplishment when you can fix it yourself!
