Rocking the OG (1996) Seiko Kinetic w/ the “Sapphlex Crystal” remember those? Some good crystal IMO.. Not 1 scratch after almost 30 years. Recently replaced the capacitor on this after not working for at least the last 5 years or so. Should be good for another 10 years. 🤞🏼
That's a beautiful #seiko kinetic. I also have an OG kinetic. Mine is a Perpetual that's "only" about 15 years old and still in pristine condition. The crystal also has no scratches. It's great to hear that even after 30 years these cool watches are still humming along.

I purchased the watch in 2003/04 or so used. Never owned a kinetic at that time and was curious about it as well as the movement and concept. It was good until about 2018 or so and it died. Finally decided to fix it over The Weekend and quick search recommended using the new lithium capacitor that supposedly last longer.. I believe it still had the original capacitor until the time it died in 2018/19.. that’s impressive.. and the fact that the crystal still looks new.. The watch was in heavy rotation for a few years.. so it hasn’t seen much wrist time in 12 years or so.. great quality.

And for five years my Seiko5 crystal was pristine. And then one day:
Thirty years? Wow!🌹
