I’m thinking of buying straps this year as well. Want to cherish the watches I have with different strap options instead of getting new ones.
For a few years I've been considering a Sinn 857 UTC, but just never reached the point of making the purchase. Today I saw a photo of one on a starkly contrasting NATO strap and the watch just POPPED! It's now back on a short list of watches under consideration.
I think straps can completely change the impact of a watch.
