A little present I got myself for being commissioned... This is a vintage Omega De Ville "Emerald" which was predicated on the "About Time" collaboration with legendary jeweller Andrew Grimer. His vision was about incorporating the concept of time into his jewelry - I like to think this might have been the beginnings of the idea that timepieces were also wearable art and more than mere tools.
To be brutally honest, it looks like an unusually dainty piece of jewellery on my 18 cm wrist... Even if it's period-correct for the 70's from which it sprung.
That said, it never fails to catch a second glance and up close in the light is truly a stunning work of art.
