As a novice, got a lot of questions😂

Hi this is Kaven Marvin from Palo Alto, CA. Say hi to all the members here.

I've been interested in watches for a long time until I decided to start my collection this month. As my budget is limited so just want to start with some micro brands.

That's why i joined Watch gang and got my first watch last week. It's a Villandry watch, i didn't know much about this brand and actually I'm not quite into it so would like to trade it.

Before i post it in the WG exchange group, i want to ask for advice since i have never done this kind of exchange before. So where do you usually proceed the exchange? From what i see people usually said "pm sent" in the comment, but what then? Will you trade directly in facebook messenger? Is it really safe?

My question may be a bit stupid and rudimentary, please forgive me, but I really need an answer, thank you very much.🙏

I did WG & got 4 watches.

Never tried a swap.

I did gift 2 of the 4 to other friends or relatives.

I didn't like that I couldn't really choose my watches, so I quit.

Yes i could understand what you feel, this is the point I dislike too. So maybe I just keep the subscription for about 2 more months I guess, then I might quit. Seems the WG is not a good place to start.😂

Welcome!  IMHO, WG is merely a platform to offload watches that aren’t selling well to the unsuspecting masses.  They get them in bulk on the cheap and then you pay to have them distributed to you.  As you can probably tell, I’m not a fan of their business model.

Welcome!  First time I hear about this brand but love their logo ⚜️!  I’m French-Canadian, therefore of old French stock.  Our national flag (Provinc of Québec) have 4 fleur de lys…
