The Boderry Sea Turtle diver. Not my watch. It's a gift for a college friend of my daughter. (His only option at the moment is a high school graduation gift that looks like something a 60 year old banker would wear to a board meeting or a night at the opera. ) So I purchased this Chinese dive watch that seems more fitting for a 20 year old student. Hopefully he'll warm to the idea of wearing a watch. Spec wise this watch is rather amazing for the price. Titanium case. Ceramic bezel. Sapphire crystal. Screw down crown. Seiko NH35 movement. Water resistance of 100 meters. Strong BGW9 lume. High quality rubber strap. Initial test suggests acceptable accuracy over 24 hours. The price? $127 after discounts. Hope he likes it. If it's not a hit with him it will end up in my collection.

I've been curious about those, as a low-cost entry into trying bronze for the first time. They do sound like a good value, and the dial is kind of different.

I'm wondering if you caught the brand/model he's already got? Like, is it a good piece that he might appreciate later? I got my first real suit at the end of high school, and while I definitely liked it at the time, many years later I learned more about tailored clothing and realized it was shockingly well-made. Sadly it got a bad cigarette hole and I got a good deal bigger 😢
