Best Strap Options for the Seiko King Samurai - Dark Manta

Since purchasing the Seiko SRPF79 with the default blue rubber strap, I have been looking for alternatives that give the watch a little more wearable style range. The OEM blue strap is great, but definitely leans the watch to a more casual/sporty look and just doesn't feel right for even business casual situations.

I have two black rubber strap options - one from Clockwork Republic and another from Island Watch. I like the Clockwork Republic strap with the machined solid end links in terms of style complementing the angular look of the Samurai case. But, the strap only comes with a classic buckle connection that always seems to move around for me. The Island Watch has a very nice scissor clasp and is quite comfortable for all-day wear, but I don't care for the interface to the watch lugs. If only these two straps could come together - the machined watch interface from the Clockwork Republic and the clasp of the Island Watch strap.

I also have a Strapcode Hexad bracelet, which dresses up the watch perfectly - matching the angles of the watch with the link geometry. This serves the purpose of formalizing the look for the watch, but is a little heavy as a total package (the King Samurai is already a big watch) to stay on my wrist for every day use. Plus, I prefer the overall comfort of a rubber strap during its daily wear.

If thinking of something similar for yourself, the photos show the range. The SRPF79 has the dark blue dial and the black bezel - which offers some color options. I prefer the strap to match the bezel (black + black), but that doesn't mean that the blue strap doesn't have its place.

The shapes of the links carry over the trapezoids from the watch case - so it really works. That said, it becomes a very hefty watch when they are combined - and do not work well with a button-up shirt. Thus, I use that combination when I know my arm/shirt can handle it.
