The same thing happened to me. I always hated the exaggerated nature of their watches (not to mention the extreme polished surfaces, which I hate). So one day I'm in a boutique that carries the brand and I spotted the blue version of it. I instantly fell in love with it.
The proportions are great. The bracelet is perfect. And the colors on the dial and bezel, man you just have to see it in person. Sometimes you just see all black, and sometimes it's just gray. It just makes a statement on the wrist. Present but not "breitling" present, if that makes sense... I really enjoy wearing this one.
