Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Good fortune, hard work and lots of patience.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Some Fossil watch back in the early 90s. I lost it at a Chili’s restaurant.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Nope.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Unless your livelihood is selling watches, Do Not justify any purchase as an investment, even if it’s a Rolex or one any of the hype watches. Be thoughtful of your purchases, but make no mistake, watches are jewelry/heirloom at best and toys/conspicuous consumption at worst.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Traska, Kuoe, Nivada Grenchen, and the like.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
No grail watch. I’ll buy what I can afford. Grail means unattainable regardless of your resources.
