Baltany, really are as good as 'the internet' claims...

This Baltany watch is a straight up homage of the military issued 6BB RAF watches issued to British airforce pilots. They had Hamilton, CWC, Newark or Precista on the dial and all had this peculiar design with a slightly broader right side and a crown that didn’t usually screw in flush with the case. The originals were good looking and if you have one today, it’s likely you don’t wear it for fear of damaging valuable pieces of history. Consider this instead for the grand total investment of $158....

Great review video!

Thanks for providing macro shots of the watch. I already suspected that the printing on my Baltany watch was very crisp to the naked eye, but the close-ups only confirmed my feeling. I also second your comments on the sapphire crystal; it's incredibly clear and the whole package feels too good for the asked price. 👌

Since I see you have experience with high-luxury military-style watches such as the IWC Big pilot that retails for almost 100 times the price of this Baltany ($14000 vs $158), how would you say the case brushing and dial painting compares between the two?

To my novice eyes, IWC pilot watches look extremely basic, with machine-made all-brushed steel cases and printed dials. I can't imagine the manufacturing cost of such watches is really 1000% higher...

Hey Beanna! Thanks for the comment and glad you like the video 😀

This is the thing with luxury watches, they are ever so incrementally better with everything. The dials are slightly crisper, the dials are incredible super close up as is the indices. But the question is, as you say, are they worth 1000% more? Beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder as we know so maybe the answer is yes for some, no for others. One thing you can't argue with is movements, say the IWC big pilot I reviewed with its epic power reserve and incredibly soft feeling wind and operating feel through the crown is clearly a luxury product. Thing is, I'd rather walk down the street when I travel and not be a super obvious target for theft so most people I believe may go back to every day wear of low to mid range watches....

Love that design. Here is the Hamilton reissue. Wish they had placed the arrow insignia above the 6.
