Great looking watch - my gut tells me this is earlier than the 80s. More likely early 70s. Can you post a picture of the case back in case that gives any clues?
I’m not an expert but there are those who can date Citizens from the case back numbers.

Okay so all credit to sweep-hand.org (link below) who provides amazing info on Citizens.
Per his site the case back indicates model 63-4018 which was introduced in the late 1960s and the first three digits of the serial number (007) indicate July 1970; all assuming that’s the original caseback, which seems reasonable given the condition of the watch.
So that’s my inexpert best slightly educated guess but certainly matches my original gut feeling.
