PRW-3510Y-8CR vs PRG-600-1CR sensor size

Hi guys,

I used to have the 3510Y Casio but I had to return it as the sensor on the left side was just digging into my arm too much especially while at work (I do lots of wiring stuff). Other than that I loved the watch. I was just browsing good ol' Amazon, and saw the PRG-600-1CR. It looks like that watch has the same style sensor as it's an ABC watch as well, but it seems much smaller? Is that the case? Do you think that model would wear better? I also like the positive screen. Much easier to read.

The dimensions for both are easily found, but seeing as I just looked them up, the PRG-600-1CR is 4mm smaller than the 3510Y.

That's the case size you mean? I'm wondering about the actual size of the sensor on the left side of each watch. The size of the watch was ok for me, but the sensor was always digging into my wrist. Seems like 600 is smaller than 3510Y?

If you look at wrist shots on Google images, it seems like the 600 has a very low profile sensor bump. I'm guessing you wear your watches loose or very close to the hand if you had issues with the 3510Y, but it looks like the 600 would indeed go a long way toward resolving that. If you like it, I'd buy it, throw it on, and try to get the sensor to jab you right off the bat. If it does, you should be able to return it relatively easily.

That's exactly it. I wear my watches closer to the hand. And you're right, after looking at more photos, it does seem like the sensor on the 600 is half the size of the 3510Y. Definitely much smaller anyway. What do you think of using the screw down crown for adjustments? Would it compromise the watch's waterproofing over time? Constantly unscrewing it? Just wondering as I never had a watch with a screw down crown.

I don't think it's a huge deal. Manual wind watches have their gaskets rub the stem or case much more than this watch will unless you're changing settings many times each day, and they don't have dramatically reduced water resistance. I don't know exactly how the gaskets are arranged in this watch, but I trust Casio's heavier duty models. There are probably two or three gaskets on that crown and stem, and use of the crown is obviously expected to be regular. If you were really worried about it, a watch repair guy could probably replace those gaskets and check them every five to ten years.

That's great. Thank you for all the info. I just ordered the watch. Should be here tomorrow. I'll try it on first thing before even changing any settings lol I'll know right away how it will feel compared to the 3510Y. Thanks again and I'll update again soon 👍

I think this is the one… much lighter and more comfortable than the 3510Y. 😃
