I don't know if you go retail it will be pricey. Many Seikos are still affordable I got my Samurai save the ocean for $229 in 2021 brand new. I think the popular watches cost and arm SKX I saw in Japan going for 700 new. Also vintage King Seiko blew up. That's great Seiko you have there is it a pilots watch? That I do hate about Seiko no Automatic pilot watches just Seiko 5.

Here are some Seiko under 400
You raise a number of good points... these are excellent pieces. Seiko used to spec certain watches at the affordable end quite well... the SARG009 is a Japanese watch with sapphire crystal and 6R15 movemment, for which I paid $450 Canadian (including taxes) at my authorised dealer. Yes, it is technically a pilot's watch but also has some fieldie vibes. 😉

That's a very nice watch. I think with Seiko especially at retail pricing there's SO much competition especially at the microbrand level that you think of options before you pull the trigger and click check out.

Totally! Many microbrands punch above their weight.
