Selling Watches on Open Market

I've begun listing some pieces on the usual marketplaces for used watches and found the demand minimal, despite going with their recommended listing prices. I'm not talking microbrands, but mainstream (Junghans, Zenith, Omega). Do I just need to be patient and change my expectation from selling in days to weeks or even months?

Here's a link to a recent story on CNBC. If the article is accurate then just be patient and if you have a desirable watch to sell, it will move.

I even sold my monblanc (albiet after a month) for my asking price. If its fairly priced - just be patient. The more expensive the watch, in general, the longer it will take to sell even if its well priced.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you were able to sell your Montblanc.

Could be priced a little too high?  Hard to say

These days, the most stuff that is relatively quick to find buyers is Rolex, Tudor, or Omega. Had scores of compliments about my watches on Instagram. When I tried to sell some of them there...crickets. On WUS? Same thing. I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't perhaps overprice them so as to make them moron magnets. Haven't done so, since I hold my honour dear, but I am tempted to go by the 109th Rule of Acquisition - dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack. Who knows, maybe if I'd have buyers pay through their noses, then I'd actually sell something🤣

Looking for sites to purchase. Suggestions? Used Chrono24 in past and had positive results. Looking for a watch-centric site similar to eBay.

Thank you.

Citing the Ferengi, nice.

I wouldn't make a good Ferengi, though. When I die, the Blessed Exchequer will send me to the Vault of Eternal Destitution
