Titan Quartet Quartz- an unusual dial

I got this watch few months back from their online retailer site Helios. This is an unusual dial where the hour is a rotating wheel and one minute hand and an off centre second hand.

It has mineral domed glass and a stainless steel body. Beige dial and brown calfskin strap gives a good dressy look. It has their in house made in India Quartz movement.

One thing which is a problem is the dark coloured hour wheel and it becomes difficult to read in low light. It should have been lumed.

Titan do have few unusual dial watches like this quartet series, maritime series(dial is like a ship steering etc), chess series.

Just above 9000₹(110$) seems a good one. Titan watches are known to be reliable.

What are your thoughts about this piece?

Fantastic watch.. 🙌

Been looking at some maritime watches.

Only issue being a large dial size..

Nice looking piece, but the hour wheel is annoying as its running opposite to how the brain reads time. Hence the price as creating the gear etc to get it running in the right direction would be a costly exercise for a microbrand…

Agree. But Titan is not micro brand. Apparently fifth largest Watch brand.

It is rotating disc hour regulateur, better if it is jumping hour as Mr Jones has. Look more like a scale to me, not my taste but buy what you like and wear it.

This looks cool 😎😎 Titan make some fine watches

Cant possibly be numberive !!! I can think of many brands that are clearly better known, have to say having been in the watch industry for quite a while now its not a brand that even springs to mind 🤪🤪its a nice looker though just that hour thing is just annoying. I have looked at making similar movement changes to produce quirky watches but have always ruled it out from a cost over return basis. I have dreamt of building either a retrograde or wandering hands watch for ages but the cost to do it without involving far eastern help is just mad. As a true british maker the costs to create new and innovative watches is very cost prohibitive.. regards rob 😀

Just had a look at titans website, they are definately not the fifth largest watch maker, they are maybe the largest in india. The watches on their site are very low cost items that are of very questionable quality that are produced very cheaply in very high numbers to cater for the fashion wearer rather than any collector.
