Visited a few local ADs (Cape Town)

I can honestly say that I was blown away by how amazing the sales representatives were.

My friend and I popped into the boutique that carries Zenith, Bvlgari and Ulysse Nardine (among others), and we also visited the official Rolex AD. My friend had to leave, but I had some time to pop into TAG Heuer as well.

All I can say is that I can’t echo the same sentiments I see on a lot of the Google reviews for the Rolex AD I visited. Of course the Rolex representative made it clear that all models were allocated, but he allowed us to provide our contact details anyway. I was allowed to try on a host of watches, and overall it was a really awesome experience given that I’d never actually handled a Rolex before.

My experience was so good that, despite not regretting my grey dealer BB58 purchase, I think I’ll probably stick to ADs from now on. I was actually quite surprised how amazingly finished the TAG WBP2150.FT6210 was, and the same goes for the Zenith Chronomaster Original. The Zenith is a watch I’d been eyeing online for months and I really can’t believe I finally had a chance to look at one in person. It wears slightly bigger than my BB58 which is surprising, but I probably will end up purchasing one in a year or two.

Overall, I would highly recommend visiting an AD. I think that as long as you have a friendly and reasonable demeanor, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t be willing to show you Rolex models that you are aspiring to purchase in either the near or distant future.
