My two Junghans Integral Mega Steel from around year 2000

Here are two very similar Junghans watches I inherited.

The one in the first picture I got from my grandfather when he passed away in 2003 and I wore it proudly during my university years. (It was then on the metal strap that is now on the other watch. The black NATO is not a style choice, it was just a spare strap to put the watch on.)

After that there was a decade where I did not wear any watches. A few years ago I decided to put the watch to use again, but after the battery change I sadly saw that the LCD date display did not work anymore.

The watch in the second picture I only found recently when I searched the watches my late father left behind. And what a nice surprise it was: The same Junghans model with a different dial, and a working LCD display. I really did not know all these years that my dad and grandpa had matching watches!

I found this model to be a nice upgrade over my grandfather's, because I like the dial more. It looks a bit more classy for my taste.

The third picture shows that watch on a brown leather strap from Hirsch.

Some more infos on the watch: The case is 38 mm with a lug to lug of 46 mm and a height of 10 mm, and a sapphire crystal. It is a quartz and the "Mega" stands for radio controlled which still works totally fine on boths watches. It did cost €259 in 2000.

Maybe some day a Max Bill will join my little Junghans collection... For keeping the family tradition intact I guess it has to be the "Mega Solar" variant. :)

Thanks for reading! Feel free to show your Junghans watches.

I used to have one of these with a black dial, but lost it. Just lost it, and I'm trying to find one. Do you know model/refence or something like that, to help me search? I really miss it.

Both of my watches go by "Integral Mega Steel" and have the reference 30/4960 005.

Here is a picture from a catalogue I found online: https://junghansarchiv.de/uploads/2003_2004_01_0006_kleinuhr_32fb2f6917.pdf

The catalogue also has black variants. The reference numbers are in the last line below the prices.

I hope this helps. Good luck with finding one!
