Average guy ( long term ) review

I wasn’t planning on doing a review today on my Lum Tec but I just watched a YouTube video on how Lum Tec is bringing out a new brand called EDC Hardwear. They say its to offer a watch at a lower cost by doing many different things like having part of the watch assembled in Hong Kong and the rest here and not selling through dealers and so on. They say they are still committed to quality as with what they produce under the Lum Tec name. Hmmm. I guess I have a problem with that and that’s why I’m doing the review. Let’s look at my Bull 42 A24 limited edition watch. Let’s start right there, limited edition.

Not sure what the M stands for but it would look like my watch was number 66 out of 500. Here’s my question. I bought mine almost a year ago and when I look on there web site the watch is still for sale. Are you going to tell me that in almost a year you didn’t sell the other 400+ watches? I reached out to Lum Tec and got a very vague answer. I just let it go at that point.

After purchasing the watch I became very disappointed in being able to use the crown to set the watch. The only way I found to set the watch is to take the band completely off. I think a design change here of moving the crown to the side or changing how the band connects is in order. Which brings me to the band. The first thing I knew I’d be doing was changing T he hard rubber strap to something different. The watch happily has drilled lug holes which I thought was a plus when I bought the watch, but now is more of a curse. Unfortunately and unlike any of my other watches with drilled lug holes, these seem too big. Whether it’s a quick release or just pins, there are loose which makes my band loose. Now to be honest, the original band was very snug on the watch with a very tight pin hole so the original band did not move like the band I have in it now. I think someone maybe should have checked the watch lug holes. The main reason why I bought the watch was lume.

As you can see from the pic, the lume looks great, but that goes away quickly. The hands must have more lume painted on them because they will last much longer but the lume can’t match any of my good lumed watches like, Signum or Deep Blue and barely does better then my Zeppelin which is not known for fantastic lume. When you name your company Lum Tec, some people might think the lume was going to be fantastic. So what do I think of the watch? I don’t believe its a limited issue unless everyone is avoiding it like I wish I had. Maybe I would have been happier with one of there other watches but after this one, I won’t be finding out.

Maybe. I think I should have just spent the money and bought a Bell and Ross which they are copying.
