1st watch of 2024 !!

So I received my watchdives WD1680 auto today & this was a brand I was eager to try out.

It is my understanding that they are affiliated with San Martin, but sit lower in the price tier.

Something has to give right?

So this may be an unfair comparison as the SM next to it (SN004) is two years old & SM will have only improved in that period of time.

So the high points of the WD are:

1:dial finish is clear & crisp.

2:build quality, no sharp edges/consistent.

3:AR coating actually works.

4.great price(£66 delivered uk)

5.milled SM style clasp.

Negatives:

1.NH35 - unlikely regulated (SM do!)

2.bracelet push pins & jangly.

3.clasp is milled but not as good as SM

4.logo - Warner bros anyone ?

5.C3 lume a little weak.

All in all I’d still recommend This watch , a few cuts had to be made from the SM in terms of quality but that is reflected in the price.

These can be had cheaper as the quartz model which I personally wanted: but presently out of stock (popularity?) I think quartz lends better to the GADA appeal the watch is catering to.

Of note: the quartz piece has a VH31 which sweeps , I think This detail offers a little standout from others & a touch of class should you NATO it + the practicality remains.
