Let's Swap Watch Stories

Hey guys I'm relatively new as a Cruncher, but loving it.

In my day job I'm a political journalist. For fun, I set up a little website where people can share stories about watches and I would love to have yours. I don't pay people for stories and I don't charge to read. There are no ads.

When I launched the site I quickly got a couple stories—including from some people I had never met! Now that I've been here a little while I wanted to make sure you all were invited to contribute. If you don't fancy yourself a writer, don't worry! I'm an editor!

I'm looking for about 800 words and hopefully 2 to 3 pics. Here's the site:

You can reach me in the DMs or in the comments here if you have any questions. If you're ready to share your story drop me a line: jim@itscasualtime.com.

So, I clicked over and immediately recognized you from the Weekly Standard. So, did you get Jonathan Last into watches or did you both arrive there on your own?

I am spending all of my efforts over at the Escapement Room. I probably would be spreading myself too thin. I don't have that much to say about watches after all. But, I will start reading over there. Looks good.

Oh he got me back into watches, that's for sure. As you'll read, I was the gear lead at Eddie Bauer in high school and liked watches before I joined him at TWS, but my enjoyment of watches had been muted by the advent of being terminally online and smartphones.

He got us each Bulwark divers a few years ago and that re-lit the spark for me. I just signed up for The Escapement Room and will be poring through the archives. (Just added it to my blogroll over there.) Great to meet a former TWS reader here!
