My previous landlord gifted me a bunch of watches after he found out I was getting into watchmaking.
One of them was this Ingersoll Sweepster dollar pocket watch, given to him by his old watchmaker friend that passed away.
I had the itch tonight to hone my hairspring adjustment skills.
Watch is still running dry, but at least I got the beat error close to zero milliseconds. The hairsprings on these dollar pocket watches are surprisingly robust!
I'd like to think that the spirit of his old friend still lives on as I carry out his craft towards the next generation of watchmakers.

Interesting. I could never have the heart to touch a hairspring like that
Got to see this in person and it was like holding a newborn baby 🤣😂
Apart from being my first watch, more recently bought an Ingersoll bronze Scovill Radiolite automatic bph 21600 accuracy mine +1sec/day (loved test result "watch accuracy meter app" so didn't retest!-also proves Myota movements have some quality!) Ref. https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/ingersoll-scovill-radiolite-100m-bronze-automatic-watch-review-unboxing-i05001-in-619.5259874/ cool video in link gives the full story. I could polish it up but like the patina, maybe give it a mini clean but prefer understated watches not too much glitz, horses for courses!

Awesome Ingersoll! Miyota movements are pretty solid, nothing wrong with plain old good and practical.
The original Radiolite I happen to own is still pretty 'hot'. Highest radium measurement in my collection, kept in a metal box.
Exactly...another The Ingersoll Bison No. 18 - visualising it, miss it. Gave it to my 6'7" 260lb ex-international bouncer buddy as thought it would suit him better!
