GWM5610-1CR & beyond

Hi WC,

I’m Billy, but I go by the handle ‘bboybatac‘ ever since MySpace was around. As the title suggests, a G-Shock was my first love into collecting as an adult. That seemed to be around 2012 which puts me in about 11 years in. Along with the Casio, I do recall owning some Solar-powered Citizen pilot’s watch to which I would alternate.

As with most, my interests ebb and flow. Nevertheless, I’ve always had to have something on my wrist whether my focus was stronger on design, cycling, physical exercise, sneakers, etc. I suppose now I have a more holistic approach towards hobbies in that I somewhat have my foot in all the aforementioned past times. They ALL make me happy.

I have a lovely partner with whom I live with in Dallas. Bless her heart as she is tolerant of my passions. About 1.5 years ago, I turned 40 yrs. young. I commemorated the anniversary by purchasing my first Rolex which was a pre-owned 2006 Turn-O-Graph. Perhaps, it too marked my first dip into the luxury market. Before then, I owned many a Seiko and mid-tier Swiss offerings.

Shortly after the TOG, my purchasing reached a level of earnestness as I picked up a BB58, a 9F GS, a Cartier Solarbeat for the Mrs.’s, and a used Omega PO 8500. It‘s clear, I’m back in the game. In fact, I placed my order for the Traska Venturer GMT just yesterday. This was to gear up for our upcoming summer trip to Tokyo, and you can bet I’ll be watch hunting there, too.

Anyway, just thought I’d introduce myself here as I’m suffering from a bit of insomnia this evening. (The reason being is due to a late-in-the-day caffeinated beverage.) I look forward to the education I’ll gain from engaging with you fine people.

Thanks for reading.
