"Longitude" was a TV mini-series released in 2000, starring Jeremy Irons and Michael Gambon, and with film production values. It's available on YouTube, running time around 3½ hours. A "must-see".

I enjoyed 'Dark' on Netflix. All kinds of different time lines and, of course, a watchmaker comes into the story.
