I had this and love almost everything about it but it drove me nuts that the “lume” isn’t actually lume!

I couldn’t get my head round the conversations/decisions at Seiko HQ that went “okay so this is a reissue aimed at our brand advocates and enthusiasts so let’s put off white splodges on the dial and hands but rather than lume let’s just use paint”.

I was a little sad to move it on but at least I didn’t lose any money on it. Shame because it wears really well.

Enjoy

Agreed; add to that the fact that they used the 7s26 movement with no manual winding or hacking, and you wonder why. I like to see vintage reissues that improve on the original.

Yes - I had forgotten about the movement and wholeheartedly agree. It wasn’t the deal breaker for me (that was “lume”) but I remember thinking that was an odd thing to do.

For me also, the lume decision was hard to overcome. It’s as if they were trying to fool you by making it look like lume; why add white “accents” to the hands and not use lume? Maybe we need to start carrying a UV pen light when we go watch shopping.

My reaction entirely - drove me nuts!
