Luch 239 BYN Review

You can see a complete video of my unboxing, specs and impressions of this watch on YouTube here:

A brief overview from me.  Overall, the Luch one-hand watch is a fun, unique piece that is a great conversation starter as you can ask someone, who may not be into watches, "What's different about this watch?".

I've struck up a number of conversations with people who ended up thinking it was a very cool concept and they've never heard of a one-handed watch before.

It's also a VERY nice entry level watch, costing less than $100 USD.  Similar one-handed watches from other companies can cost 10x that amount or more.  I didn't want to spend that much on something that I didn't know if I'd like the uniqueness.

The leather band is very comfortable, but I don't think it will last long if the watch is worn on a regular basis.  After wearing if for a couple of weeks straight, there's definite wear on the leather strap, however, getting a replacement strap would not be an issue since the lug width is 20mm, so you'll have plenty of options.

The one thing that I did not care for, after wearing the watch for a while is the color contrast of the numerals and indices on the dial.  The choice of orange against the black, while different and unique, makes it hard to read at certain angles.  There's also no loom on the hand or indices so reading the watch in low or no light is impossible.  I think loom on this style of watch would be pretty useless though since...there's only one hand! :)

In the end, would I buy it again?  I would!  It's a piece that you can show to people that doesn't feel like you're trying to brag about your expensive watch.  It's also a way to get people interested in watches that may not know anything about them at all.

Thanks for reading and I hope you watch my video too!

I kind of like how they put the numerical indices only as a key for the first hour. The checkerboard pattern looks good but might be part of the legibility problem
