Wyrd x Bel Canto limited edition - last few IOI needed

Hi, I am helping out the organizer of a limited edition Bel Canto via Reddit and Instagram get the word out about his project (not on WatchCrunch). He says he has 94 out of 100 indications of interest needed to kickstart this collaboration and need 6 more people to commit to the project with CW before the company takes over the process.

If interested, please contact the organizer on Reddit (fluetinsarcasm) or Instagram (wyrdwatches). Disclosure: I signed up for the watch a week ago after seeing the organizer's post on Reddit but don't know him personally. I assume CW will handle the payment details if this does launch as he described. Thanks, James @ TheWatchMetrics.com

Introducing The Wyrd Watches Bel Canto Limited Edition!

Hey all - I’m a long time redditor, watch enthusiast, and r/watchexchange buyer/seller. I had the opportunity to co-design a custom Bel Canto with Cristopher Ward, and now that the design is fully finished, in order to make it a reality, I need to tally up the interest of 100 buyers. This is very similar to the Christopher Ward x Watches@ partnership, barring quantity (100 vs. their 200). I'm giving my microbrand homies first dibs on it.

Additional Information:

We came up with a gorgeous bidirectional fuchsia to red fumé dial that elegantly flows inward towards the clock face. Even among watch dials this one is fairly unique.

I’m told the dial was personally designed by Adrian Buchmann, the CEO of Sequent watches, designer for Czapek watches, and current head designer at Christopher Ward because he was interested in my original pitch.

I chose black hands so they stand out on the watch face, and will seamlessly blend with the dial in low light settings. Keep in mind that red is a dark spectrum color and in low light settings can look almost black.

I chose white for the frequency wave and the “bird’s beak” chime so it provides a slight but stark contrast on the dial.

A limited edition of 100 making it among the rarest Bel Canto variants.

Important note: The interest list I am gathering is first come, first serve based on sharing necessary information to get on the list. Those who respond quickly and share that info will be prioritized.

FAQ:

Q: How do I get the watch?!

A: Shoot me a DM either here or on Instagram. to express your interest. I have a tracker that will tally up to 100, and then 20 more for the waitlist. At that point CW takes things over and collects the funds. Expressing your interest guarantees you a spot, but doesn’t obligate you to buy it.

Q: How much will this cost?

A: See the specs and information image for price breakdown. Important to note that the price does not include duty, taxes, shipping, etc. Final price will be calculated when you make the purchase directly through Christopher Ward.

Q: How are payments and selection of the bracelet and strap handled?

A: Christopher Ward handles all of that safely and securely through their site. They also offer payment plan options. We will have a curated ‘hidden’ section on their website where you input a password to make the purchase.

Q: What is the timeline for getting this done?

A: To be determined based on getting the order quota fulfilled. But we should definitely expect Q1 2024 at the earliest. As a point of reference, it took about 5-6 months from fulfilling the order quota to final production for the gold and blue Christopher Ward x Watches@ partnership.

Q: What in the world is a Wyrd Watch and why would I want it on my wrist?

A: I wanted to come up with a playful brand name because what’s the point of this if you can’t have some fun? When mulling over fitting concepts, I was reminded of Wyrd, the “goddess of fate and personal destiny” which brought me down the rabbit hole. Wyrd is an old English noun meaning "to come to pass," like the passing of time or controlling one’s destiny. The word Wyrd is also the ancestral term to the modern English equivalent of "weird" which means supernatural, uncanny, or just simply "unexpected." This felt fitting because the Bel Canto is definitely an unexpected and out of the ordinary timepiece, coupled with this unusual dial, and the concept comes together. Besides, who doesn’t like a little alliteration?

Very interesting color way. I have the feeling this is a watch you have to hold in person to fully appreciate it.
