I got this about a year ago for under $60. I hear lots of criticisms and praises of various watch brands but I don't see much about Armitron. I was curious what people's opinions are of the brand and their offerings.
The watches are fine but the brand identity is not really there. If they have a unique design language, I haven't zeroed in on it beyond their affinity for silly digital geegaws that display simple things in obtuse ways to look cool. However, they do tend to make decent looking watches regardless.
For anyone seeking a double digit watch to be tried on in person, Armitron is right there with Casio and Timex in the Walmart watch racks. I suspect they'd be deemed third in that hierarchy, but honestly that is stiff competition.
Were I ever to buy another watch, this one is in top consideration.

Some decent affordable watches, some of which are 80's icons.
Very interesting brand history.
