Totally agree with each post above. I've never been a big fan of the G shock series, but this new line seems a little more subdued, perhaps even a little more "slick". Cant find the right word at the moment. This line definitely got my attention and after pouring over the color choices for days, I finally pulled the trigger on my first G shock - the same gray model you chose. It's on its way and your photo just made me run and check the tracking number online again :)
Actually, this will not only be my first G Shock, it will be my first Casio since the calculator watches I used to have as a kid!

I know what you mean. I think the shape of the bezel/case also did it for me with this CasiOak series. That and I love the dial layout, instead of the full digital display, I love having the analog hands.
This color though, I thought suited me best. I almost had a thought of getting the all red one, but decided to keep it more neutral. This is my first G-Shock as well, was hiking and slipped a little and had the thought: “I don’t want to want a G-Shock in hindsight, as I lament the loss of my mechanical.”
Not the fanciest of collections. Just an amateur enthusiast, with a little interest in some things EDC as well. And tennis. And F1. And nature. And science.

Love that colour
Love that colour
Me too. So many choices, like a kid in a candy store, took a while of hemming and hawing.
That colour is striking, my friend...
