Selten Watch Company

I am curious about experiences Crunches have had with Selten. I ordered a watch from them on pre order back in August, and at the time I got an email confirmation with an expected September delivery. I emailed them towards the end of September, and received an email saying that delivery was going to be delayed to “Oct-Nov’. Clearly, that probably isn’t going to happen.

I think this marks a new thing in watch collecting for me. I think I’m over this damn watch even before I receive it! I’m considering canceling the order at this point.

My question for the WatchCrunch community is; if you have ordered from Selten (specifically NOT promo watches sent to influencers PURCHASERS only), what has your experience been like? Are these constant delivery delays just part of dealing with them? Are their watches worth waiting for in the first place?

Any responses will be appreciated.

No. I have not. 😠

They did respond to an email I sent about 3 weeks ago, in which I wanted to cancel the order because it’s so late (my confirmation email claimed September delivery expected on an August order). They offered an extra strap to compensate for the delivery delays. I accepted this with a promised January delivery.

Time will tell. 🙄

Anyway, I’ve ordered the blue meteorite dial Series 00. Seems like they’ve discontinued it even before they have actually delivered them, because it’s not even on their web page anymore. But that’s what I’m expecting since that’s what I ordered.

Time will tell. 🙄

It’s actually been so long I’ve lost interest in the watch, and unless it’s utterly incredible I suspect I will be disappointed with this watch, if for no other reason than the delivery process.

Time will tell. 🙄

Never again with micro brands for me. I’m sure this isn’t always a thing with micros. But I’m not interested in giving them a chance again. Much easier to stick with established brands that deliver products.

Still no luck?

@tedtsangg I did get that watch, and posted a review some time back. My feels about the watch are still as they were when I reviewed it. Basically, it’s a good watch and a bargain considering the meteorite dial. I’d buy it again, and my main complaint was failure at timely delivery. I would add to my review that it could have been better regulated as it runs plus 20 seconds a day. So, it’s within specs for the movement. But I’ve got a Seiko that cost half that came out of the box at plus one second. I’ll take it to a watchmaker and have it adjusted at some point, because I’d prefer it better.
