Are Dark Colors the New Blue? At Least a Little Bit?

Inspired by the earlier posts of the day here, are dark colors becoming the new blue?

I'm seeing a lot of models of new watches featuring dark(er) colors. Even if it's dark blue. And for one, I love it. Wading in to the controversial end of the pool, I like blue, but it seems its' way over done. I personally do not own a blue dial watch, either.

It also seems the blues got brighter. Aqua, teal, (Tiffany) baby blue and so on. Then most of those colors got 'electrified,' as in even brighter Yikes, to me. I'm an Omega fan. Even Omega went big into this with their blue series releases and the small pastels last year.

Yes, I'm older. I tend to like the classic, vintage & neo-vintage colors. I do like lighter colors too. White, off-white, vintage cream right down to the metal colors. Gold, red gold, silver, copper, bronze, etc.. But I certainly like, and am encouraged, with what I'm seeing with the number of new darker colored formats.

I guess I should take my last shot since I'm here. As I'm an 8" wrist, I like 40mm '+' watches. A sizable amount of people prefer their watches in 34 to 39mm. With a 39mm being huge to some. Then, it surprises me to hear their strong adversity towards the larger case size(s).

In summary, 'to each his own!!!' But for me, the darker and bigger...the better!

I've provided two examples of my own. One is an older 2008 model @ 45.5mm. The other is my newest 'brown & black' DSOTM @ 44.25mm.

Both beautiful 😍

Not a fan of pastel colours, I'm colour blind to desaturated hues 😢 Gimme a dark dial anyday 😉👍
