Smiths Everest (Gilt dial); Maybe the most versatile watch there is???

So I’ve been looking for a watch that could be perfect for all occasions: work, dressing up, casual, sporty weekends, out with friends/family etc. and I had been on the search for something for around 12 months.

I’d looked high and low (well, maybe here and YouTube) for something appealing - I then thought I’d try this beauty, the Smiths Everest (gilt dial) on the jubilee bracelet. The truth be told, I actually wanted one with the oyster style bracelet but it wasn’t available and I haven’t been able to buy one from the Timefactors shop yet (due to my internet going down during the very short window that it’s open).

I also thought it would be a good way to see if I liked the size and style of the watch as I’ve heard a lot of people rave about the Rolex Explorer, but when I tried one on at an AD, I must admit that I didn’t connect with it in the same way that I did with other watches.

But since having this I’m over the moon and I think the jubilee suits it well (I still want the other bracelet).

I wear this all the time now and I think the design and proportions, the dial, the colour, crown etc are all perfect. They all seem to work in unison.

I like watches that are GADA type watches and could act as a one watch collection, and so I’m really happy with this one.

There are other watches that I have my eye on, but my wallet is saying “hey,,wait a minute”, but for now I’m content. Really content.

Does anyone else have this feeling about a watch really ticking the boxes? I must admit that all the watches I have, I look at them and think “god damn, your perfect” and then I think I’m completely nuts to talk to a watch. But there are some arches that I’ve subsequently sold (Hamilton khaki, casios Seikos etc) that didn’t quite hit all of the marks.

So what are your near perfect watches? Which one do you pick up all the time; fully in the knowledge that whatever you end up doing that day, you won’t need to think about changing your watch (yes, like 99.9999999% of the population that are not so much into watches as us nutters!!! 😉
