Panerai Marina Luminor 40mm

Hi guys, I had a question and I was wondering what the community thinks of this, so you guys could give me some pointers. I’m thinking about purchasing a Panerai Marina from the year 2002 that’s been inspected by watch makers and it looks to be in great condition. Have you guys heard of anything bad from the Panerais from the early 2000s? Or there’s this other option from an eBay seller, that’s selling the same watch but from the year 2007, but it’s not as in great condition of the previous one. It also, doesn’t have any service history, but the pricing is significantly lower maybe 30% less than the one listed from the year 2002. Please let me know your thoughts. Any comment is appreciated, I’m just trying to make a smarter purchase. Thank you once again!

Always remember you are also buying the seller. The cheapest option isn't always the best option. That being said, a lot of Panerai watches from that era use somewhat standard ETA movements that don't give a lot of trouble and can be easily serviced just about anywhere.

Always buy from a trusted source, and buy the best you can afford.

The “cheaper” Panerai it’s also from a very reputable seller. Only problem like I mentioned above is that it has no service history. While the other one has been serviced since early March. The other one doesn’t have a service history. Then again you did mention the eta movement caliber within it and maybe that’d be cheaper in terms of just sending it in for serviced and pay an extra. What’re your thoughts on it?
