Escapement Time: a great homage to the Hamilton Khaki Mechanical watch

This watch is a great option to have if you don't know if you want to spend the $300+ dollars for Hamilton Khaki field watch. It's done by the Chinese brand Escapement time. It is practically the same "Look" & wearing dimensions as the original, but of course not the finishing but still very nicely done. This watch sells for $48+ Dollars. It's quartz, but Veca Quartz so it looks like it's a mechanical movement beating 4 times per second. It has a screw down crown and case-back that offers 100m WR. Definitely a nice alternative budget friendly field watch ⌚️

Absolute bargain of a watch! 💪

Technically speaking, this is not an homage. 👍

This design is the mil-spec MIL-W-3818A/B commissioned by the American government to be issued to soldiers sent to Vietnam. It was produced by several manufacturers from the late 50s to the late 60s, the most iconic being Benrus, Elgin, and Bulova.

Hamilton joined the production of the MIL-W-3818B in 1967 but they don't own this design. Mil-spec designs, by definition, can not become a brand's intellectual property and are fair use for any manufacturer. Otherwise, the Hamilton Khaki Field would also be an homage to the original Benrus DTU-2A/P. 😜

Thanks for the post! Wanted a Khaki Field but never convinced to part with the cash. This could be the one!!

For near $50, that’s a good bargain, not gonna lie. However, surely used mechanical examples will cost no more than $300?

Escapement Time is an amazing microbrand. I have 5 of his watches and they are all amazing. The detail and quality are far, far above the price point. Congratulations on an excellent field watch that you didn't spend a fortune on.
