The BEST affordable mechanical automatic watch in Malaysia
Hello! Starting off my WatchCrunch journey with an appropriate piece in my collection with the Seiko 5 SNKL23. This was a whimsical buy that tethered me closer to the edge of insanity with my watch collecting. My watch collection ideology is based on pricing, which reflects phases in my life as a whole. This Seiko completes my "affordable" collection, filling up the slot of the best affordable mechanical automatic watch in its price point. I just love the applied markers with the textured dial. And please do not get me started on the gorgeous day date wheel that is colour matched impeccably with the main dial that has two shades of black to it. You won't believe how many luxury watchmakers aren't able to emulate such detail even at prices that touch multiples of ten to this. The bracelet, in my opinion, is appropriate for the price point and I would even go as far as to say, it is comparable to the Seiko Presage metal bracelets, albeit less well- built. An impressive feat, considering the price again! Although, I am considering a black suede leather strap for this piece, hmmm. Looking forward to meeting all the watch enthusiasts on this platform, cheers!
Great looking piece and something to be prized for sure. A lot of great details with this piece that make it unique amongst the other Seiko 5s out there. Do agree the bracelets leave a lot to be desired but nothing a nice strap can't change - black suede would be a fantastic pairing.
