Review of grail watch

Having the experience of sipping water not champagne at the botique the experience was still great with cutting open of the patek Philippe with a scissors. Writing my address and name on the certificate that would be sent back to Geneva. It was a great experience.

As my first patek, I always knew that I would start from a caltrava and mentally prepared to buy the full black with brown strap. But recently went to a botique to try the red and thought that was ok.

Out of the blue, the sales asked about my profession, location of work as she needed to submit to head office. And sent me the yellow and asked if I was interested. I jumped on the opportunity having never tried the red. I know some people are set on color red. But having waitlisted for one year with no response, if it wasn’t for colleagues connection I would not get this watch. This watch is by no means cheap compared to my microbrand, Tudor and Rolex.

My colleague who went with me asked if I would sell this and my firm answer was no. It has been the most difficult watch to date to buy.

Baltic, kurono Tokyo I have to keep refreshing computer screen to buy.

Rolex Tudor I just bump into stores and through connections got a white explorer 2 and Roman numerals.

Patek I had to build connection portfolio. The hassle was not just financial it was time, money, effort. I would pass this to my next generation and this watch marks my birthday and how in 2-3 years how I got from Tudor to microbrand to Rolex and ultimately went to the top of watch Horology patek.

I wanted to buy a Royal Oak before this but the case was too thick similar to swatch blancpain. And the staff rudeness was a turn off, pressure to buy code and overseas. And changing of sales staff lead to misplacement of my Royal Oak wish list meant I was never in the waitlist.

Patek on the other hand was courteous to all customers entering their store even with no appointment.

Fine I went to a musical with this grail and it was extremely low key. I am confident this can be my daily wear and not catch much attention

  • Patek this history
  • Modern Calatrava
  • Low key. You can’t tell it’s a patek
  • First patek
  • Urm, for such an expensive watch some people might want a showy aquanut/ nautilus
  • Short power reserve 45 hr
  • It has no loom and acts as a dress watch
  • The strap is not waterproof
