Hi there, I am new here...

Even if I registered already in Sept 2023, for no good reason I never posted anything. So, today I would like to start to leverage the community and participate as well.

I have started collecting watches around a year ago. And due to some time and money at hand, I probably did 2 or 3 of the mistakes newbies in this hobby are warned about: (1) I was impatient and bought too quickly too much, (2) too many impulse purchases, (3) I was not sure about what I really wanted.

One thing I always followed: even if my grail watches might be of comparably higher price, I tried not to spend more than EUR 500 on a single watch. So, it is probably fair to say that with my current collection I more go for "quantity over quality" while it should be potentially the other way around. In the picture you see what I have today. However, I am changing and hopefully will have the opportunity to change a few of the pieces I have today and make it a meaningful collection from my perspective.

I am looking forward to interacting with you here on this platform!

How have you gotten along with the glycine airman? Something I’ve contemplated getting for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger on.

It looks and feels great! However, and this is another beginner's mistake I did by not doing enough research before buying: this version is the "GMT" one, means that dial shows 24 hours but the hands go around in 12 hours. And to be honest: I wanted the "real" 24-hr version. But let's see, so far I am happy with it and it is easy to read still.

Yes, I’ve been looking at “the Purist” version of it which omits a gmt hand and has the 24h rotation. Nice looking watch.

Fully agree, it is the one I want to go for somewhen as well… now that I did some more research and understood how the models are 🙈

Thanks for all the kind words, really appreciate it!

Welcome! I really think that, in the $500 price range, STEINHART can't be beat. Take a look at 'em! I'll bet you find some you like.

Here are two of my Steinies and a Tissot - which is also a good choice!
