Navigating the Journey Beyond a Watch Purchase Adventure - part1

The first half of 2024 lacked watch excitement (in my opinion). The second half brought a shift.

Turning to YouTube and Instagram, Adrian Barker's take on the Hamilton Khaki Expedition sparked my interest. Kudos to Teddy Baldassarre for his insights on the Longines Hydroconquest GMT and Seiko Alpinist GMT. Comparisons focused on style, wearability, functionality, power reserve, and brand history.

Love the Hamilton (tho wouldn't buy because I don't get on with lack of AR coating on previous Hamilton's I've briefly owned)

Love the GMT Alpinists, seriously considering one

The messed up indices on the new Hydroconquest just set me off & destroy anything else that appeals about the watch, such a shame.

If Hamilton upped thier AR and lume game they'd get more of my money as I'm a fan who otherwise owns five different models.

I totally agree with you. They would sell a lot more watches if they did.

My initial connection to the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph watch dates back to the movie Interstellar, where Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway delivered truly outstanding performances.

It remains an all-time favorite for me!
