I will confine my comments to the 1940's through the 1960's. Very few black dial watches were made. For some manufacturers the percentage of black dials produced was about 5% in any given year.
You can find Bulova, Hamilton, Elgin, Eterna, and Marvin with black dials (and Rolex, always Rolex). Just check to see that they haven't been re-dialed.

@Aurelian is right black dials are much rather (maybe because watches were smaller and lighter colours gave them more presents?)
Lots out there, but looks like gotta become bit of an expert before purchasing because there's lots of dodgy ones. Looking into them myself.
Fascinating rabbit hole in itself.
