Anyone have a watch that they loved at first sight when they were younger, planned to save for and get in their early days of yielding to the horological bite but could never swing it ? Until it was too late...
My younger self was so so so SO into the Seiko Astron GPS Solar SAST009 for so long. I dreamed of walking into an AD or better yet go to Japan and experience picking one up one brand new... But alas it was never to be, even with finally making the trip to Japan twice (maybe I didn't know where to go, too much to see, too much to eat); visiting the boutiques in Paris, Portland, Seatlle... " sorry! out of production, sold out!...ah désolé monsieur nous avons que les modèles récents ! " Time goes by.... the ebb and flow of personal tastes shifts but the memory of a youthful unsuccessful chase lingers.
Many Astrons that followed with cool limited editions, but this one... this one was just right...
