Question: I’ve been thinking about the mechanical one especially because of the cheaper price. I don’t really care about having to wind it myself, but details present in the automatic version such as the transparent case back, the red detail in the second hand, the more elaborate dial and especially the 100m water resistance (over the 50m on the other version) make me wonder if I should get the automatic insted. On the other hand I’ve read that the mechanical version is thiner, do you feel that? Thanks for any info!

Hey Milosis, the automatic version is definitely more “polished” and all the little details add up to make it a more versatile piece compared to the mechanical one, however the mechanical one has a certain charm to it that you can only appreciate once it’s on your wrist.
The case of the mechanical one is slightly thinner than the automatic one. The difference is negligible IMO, however, if you are buying the mechanical one with the nato straps, that will increase the thickness (especially if you’re opting for the leather nato strap).
Neither of these watches are dive watches so I would suggest not swimming with them. If the WR is a deal breaker for you, then the automatic one would be the obvious choice. I never swim with watches on, so this isn’t something I bother about.
If it is possible for you to try both of them on before buying, I’d suggest doing that OR you can do what I did and buy the automatic version first and then the mechanical one ;)

Hamilton's are always solid
Beautiful shot, awesome watches. I also have khaki auto, and their mechanicals are so attractive!
