There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, except for one little thing.

I like to wear the all titanium CIGADesign Z. It's lightness compensate for the large size and I often forget that I'm wearing it.

The case size and shape isn't something that will appeal to every taste, but it's not a direct copy of anything and is very well made.

In fact, the build quality of the case and the way that the huge curved sapphire fits seamlessly on top of it is telling me that it's about time that we forget about what we think that we know about Chinese watchmaking quality.

The skeleton work done on the movement is also telling because a lot of work was done to design the internal struts holding the movement. It's goes far beyond simply taking a standard off the shelf movement and sticking it inside with a few screws holding it together. The movement itself came from Sea-Gull but it doesn't appear to be one of their common standard off the shelf caliber. It could be better finished and decorated but it's still nice to look at, which I guess is the main reason for skeleton watches to exist.

It's supposed to be a bit loud but I don't mind since I can't hear it ticking anyway.

It's really a very nice watch to wear and I didn't have to sell a kidney for the privilege to own it. The only problem with it is that it's completely useless as a watch since the legibility runs into negative numbers. It's absolutely one of my worst watches as far as reading the time at a glance is concerned.

Which in the case of the CIGA is completely irrelevant to me because I didn't buy it for it's time keeping abilities but rather as a curio which is nice to wear during weekends.

I got one of these ages ago to scratch the skeleton itch. Very flat back and something fun but different to wear. Personally doesn’t get much wrist time.

It sure is a looker! 😍 And a great example of a weekend watch. I also think there's a place for legible-ish watches in our collection. (Have a few myself). Wear them because you enjoy them, they're cool and you want to rock something nice around your wrist. 👍

Couldn't agree more. It is high time that we, as consumers, stop parroting these baseless stigma about Chinese products and give them a fair chance.

There are countless examples of high quality Chinese craftsmanship in pretty much every industry, all of them offering unrivaled value for money thanks to low labor cost. We shouldn't dismiss objective quality simply based on the price tag not being as high as our expectations set by manufacturers with higher production costs or greedy markups.

I see the same dismissive attitude towards Korean made guitars or boots handcrafted in China or Columbia. Either by pride or racism, some groups simply can not accept that talent and skilled craftsmanship can be found everywhere in the world.

I remember the uproar within the HiFi community when it was found that plenty of brands, Bowers & Wilkins among them, offshored their manufacturing to China.
