A time of austerity

The reflection from the sapphire is the only bit of shiny on the VALOR from Redux &Co. it's a stark contrast to the Flightmaster on its bright yellow rubber strap that I wore yesterday.

Titanium is a metal that is not reflective when it's left unpolished and in the case of the VALOR the severe angles of the case do nothing to soften its look. It's an austere looking watch that isn't ashamed of looking the part.

The black dial with its painted numerals and the concealed text (it's there, you just need to look for it) is there to remind me that the fun time I had yesterday with flashing the yellow band is now over. It's a very legible and practical dial, but it leans more towards being utilitarian rather than trying to be elegant or eye catching.

Which doesn't mean I can't have any fun because I played with trying to catch the reflections from my coffee cup, which just proved that I still have a lot to learn about photography. Beside, the VALOR has its own qualities and is a good looking watch (IMO of course, YMMV etcetera) that wears very well on my wrist.
