Meaningful and non-meaningful watch purchases?

I’m curious how the community thinks about how to make watch purchases more meaningful when it’s not an obvious meaningful purchase e.g., gift from a significant other or watch to mark a special occasion.

Ultimately I think I want each purchase to signify something special but sometimes I just want to buy a watch because I like it.

Thoughts?

Generally I don't need an excuse to buy a watch, but it is a good way of controlling/regulating the spending!

Treat yourself if you can. Waking up healthy is a special occasion 🙏🏿

I never buy because of a special mark or something. I buy and collect them for the sake of experience on a never ending journey. With every brand/genre/color/size/material or whatever it is, you learn. And at least for me I can say now that the filters on watches that I want to learn in the feature are more tight than it was at the beginning. So same happens than on a more micro level. Like I am collecting now 36-39mm models mostly gada type elegant sportswatches on all kind of dial colors. No Flieger no divers that I used to collect next to other models for example.
