During the quartz revolution, when the head of Omega and Tissot were bankrupt and merged with others to what would become the Swatch Group later. The German watch industry had been blown away already. The Swiss watchmakers were more dead than alive. It was in this time when Tissot had the idea to make watches out of solid rock. They hit the nerve of the customers and other materials followed quickly. The Woodwatch was the second iteration of The Jewels of Nature. Though overlooked and dismissed these Jewels of Nature, the Rockwatch and the Woodwatch in the first line, flipped the cards for the Swiss watchindustry. Mine is an original from that time and my tiny little share to save the ass of Tissot when I have been a teen.
