Patek Philippe Dilemma Nautilus 5740 vs Aquanaut 5261
My official dealer finally called me that my long awaited Nautilus 5740 Perpetual Calendar is coming in September. I am beyond excited.
HOWEVER
he also mentioned to me that a second watch I asked him is on its way too and I can have it, the new Aquanaut 5261R is also coming.
I tried this watch on my thin wrist and it’s wonderful.
He said he most likely cannot let me have both…

I'll go with the Aquanaut for sure
The Nautilus has a fantastic complication if your going to wear it everyday and stick it in a winder when your not and the Aquanaut is very comfortable to wear however I would push to get both as they serve 2 different purposes. I loved wearing the Aquanaut as a daily but after a while I never saw it as special.
Nautilus. If you pass on it now you might never get it again.
Also purely on a monetary basis, on the secondary market it would be cheaper to get the Aquanaut later.

I am not sure I will be wearing either of those "everyday" but I definitely like to wear my watches. The Aquanaut will be easier to wear, much lighter and less imposing. The Nautilus in full white gold is a delicate watch. I will push for both but right now I am more inclined to go towards the Nautilus

This issue is they are both soft unless the Aquanaut is SS but mine was scratched to bits very early on.

If you wear your 2as he’s then yo7 will be returned to scratches anyway, both will mark up.
My take is that you can’t lose either way my friend. There has to be a reason why you personally would choose one over the other. I would also reflect back on that you already down in your collection to see if one of them are over lapping something you already own in anyway.
