Love the watch but hate the crown?!

Got the GMT Master II back from the Rolex service center just in time for Christmas. I sent it in because I had an issue with the crown/ gmt and hour hands eventually became totally disengaged from the gears and couldn’t be set properly.

So anyway $700 dollars later it looks brand new, and it works again, but the crown is still a total b*tch to manipulate. Does anyone else have this issue with gmt’s (specifically ones that drive the date forward and back)? It’s so hard to feel confident that the crown is in the correct position between winding/gmt & date setting/local time setting. Worried that the same issue will occur again down the road…

[this is a V-serial which I think dates the watch to 2008-2009ish]Image

Man I love this gmt master, would love to get my hands on one. Never heard of this problem but I would imagine it being annoying.

It’s become my favorite but yes annoying! - was lucky to get it before market values exploded

I have not heard of this issue. I'm curious to hear if anyone else has experienced this problem with the crown as well. The last thing you want to do if feel uncertain of whether or not it is in the correct position, and I am sorry to hear this has happened to you. Thanks for sharing and definitely something for all of us to keep an eye out for.
